CHECK OUT REPSOL HONDA’S MOTOGP IVECO S-WAY PAIR
IVECO’s new flagship truck powers the front-running MotoGP outfit
If you’ve seen any MotoGP over the past three decades, you’ll be familiar with the red, orange and white Repsol Honda factory team bikes.
However, it’s a little trickier to spot the race transporters that carry the 16-time manufacturer championship winning team’s Honda RC213V race bikes to the European rounds of the championship.
Last Friday, we got a glimpse of the IVECO S-Way duo that hauls the MotoGP race bikes of Marc Márquez and Pol Espargaró in the paddock at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain. And as you can see, they’re pretty hard to miss!
The Pol Espargaró-branded unit is parked on the left-hand side of the photo, while the six-time MotoGP champion’s name and number appears on the IVECO S-Way on the right.
We also saw a snippet of their trip to the Catalunya circuit earlier in the week. Repsol Honda posted this photo of the diesel duo filling up at a Repsol service station en route to the Catalan Grand Prix.
The team struck a two-year deal with IVECO during the COVID-19-interrupted 2020 season, which sees the brand-new S-Way prime movers in use until at least 2022. And the trucks and transporters still have plenty of work to do this year, with eight of the 13 European rounds on the MotoGP calendar still to be run.
The IVECO S-Way is the new flagship truck in the Italian brand’s line-up, and it regularly appears in the world of motorsport. Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN uses no less than five of these trucks to haul its race equipment around Europe, alongside seven Stralis prime movers. Team Hahn Racing also uses the S-Way model in the FIA European Truck Racing Championship.
