WHO’S GOT WHAT? 2021 SUPERCARS TRUCK WRAP

A rundown of the truck manufacturers and models represented in this year’s Repco Supercars Championship paddock

Last year, three truck manufacturers departed the Supercars paddock. And this year, we said goodbye to IVECO Australia to bring the manufacturer tally down to five.

Kenworth is once again the most represented brand in the Supercars paddock, with four teams running Kenworth prime movers in 2021. These teams are Tickford Racing, Walkinshaw Andretti United, Blanchard Racing Team and Team 18. The latter is the only team running a Kenworth T909, with four K200 cabovers making up the rest.

The second-most represented brand in the paddock is Mercedes-Benz. With no Mercedes-Benz representation only two years ago, there are now three Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks pulling Supercars equipment around Australia. The teams running Mercedes-Benz Actros prime movers are Red Bull Ampol Racing, Erebus Motorsport and Matt Stone Racing.

There are two MAN TGX prime movers in the paddock, which is unchanged from last year. Shell V-Power Racing Team and Team Sydney - TEKNO are representing the German heavy vehicle brand in 2021.

The long-standing partnership between Albury-based Brad Jones Racing and Freightliner continues this year, with the team running two Freightliner prime movers for its four Holden Commodore ZB entries. The BJR Freightliner brigade features one Coronado and one Argosy.

Speaking of long-term partnerships between Supercars teams and truck brands, Kelly Grove Racing has stuck with a Mack Super-Liner for 2021.

And while they don’t carry Supercars entries, fans are always interested in the supporting trucks in the paddock. Both the Supercars Championship transporters and the Dunlop Motorsport rig are pulled by Australian-built Kenworth machinery.

Trackside fans can see them all as the Repco Supercars Championship season fires back to life at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend and throughout November.
