The annual Supercars visit to Townsville is officially underway, with the nti Transporter Parade taking place in Townsville early yesterday afternoon.

The 14-strong B-Double convoy put on a show, too, with airhorns blasting wherever the spectators had settled in along the 40-kilometre route.

The parade got rolling around midday, with a full police escort taking the big rigs west along Ingham Road, before a left-hand turn onto Shaw Road.

They then headed back toward Reid Park, passing thousands of fans along Hervey Range Road, Ross River Road and Charters Towers Road.

You can watch the convoy from two different angles on Charters Towers Road below.

The B-Double snake then entered the race circuit for this weekend, where the teams will unload the gear in preparation for Friday’s action on track.

It’s not just the Supercars rigs in Townsville this weekend. The Super 2 Series, Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, Stadium Super Trucks and Toyota 86 Racing Series transporters have all made the trip to North Queensland.

Make sure you’re following us on Facebook and Instagram for all the shots from the paddock.
