TRIPLE EIGHT AND IVECO AUSTRALIA ON THE ROAD

The 2017 Virgin Australia Supercars champion will be crowned when the chequered flag falls after the final 500 kilometres of racing this weekend. Better yet, it all goes down on a brand-new street circuit in Newcastle, New South Wales.

Red Bull Holden Racing Team’s Jamie Whincup holds a slender 30-point buffer over Shell V-Power Racing Team star, Scott McLaughlin. However, it is not yet a two-horse race with Fabian Coulthard, Chaz Mostert and Shane Van Gisbergen still mathematically in the hunt. The ledger is tipped the opposite way in the teams’ championship with Red Bull Holden Racing Team trailing the DJR Team Penske outfit by just over 100 points.

Both Queensland outfits made the trip south earlier this week with Iveco Australia documenting the journey of the two Triple Eight Race Engineering B-Doubles from their Banyo base to the pit complex in Newcastle. By our estimates, the trip totalled just under 800 kilometres.
