The ex-Team Sydney - TEKNO transporter is ready for its first trip for PremiAir Racing

PremiAir Racing’s B-Double race trailer set is very familiar to the Repco Supercars Championship paddock. However, this year, it has a different prime mover up front, and some big corporate sponsors will make full use of the Gold Coast team’s rolling billboard.

Last Wednesday, we shared some photos of the team’s all-white transporter during its shakedown session at Queensland Raceway thanks to Matthew Paul.

Since then, the PremiAir squad has been busy applying a new asymmetrical wrap to the transporter ahead of its big trip south to the Supercars season-opener at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend.

The team posted a couple of work-in-progress shots of the sponsor logos being applied to the transporter on its new Facebook page yesterday. The photos revealed an asymmetrical wrap with Subway branding on the left side of the B-trailer and Coca-Cola on the right side. Peter Xiberras’ PremiAir Hire business has prime position on both sides of the A-trailer.

PremiAir Racing also looks to be sticking with its Kenworth T409 SAR prime mover that did the heavy hauling to Queensland Raceway last week. That means there will be six Bayswater-built Kenworth prime movers in the Supercars paddock this year.

Mick Shortus will drive the bonneted Kenworth in 2022, as he begins a new era with PremiAir Racing having driven for the TEKNO squad since the start of 2011.

The Repco Supercars Championship rigs are already heading for Sydney. Early this morning, we filmed Team 18’s Kenworth T909 race transporter leaving Melbourne. Check out some footage captured with Team 18 here.

Keep an eye on our website for plenty more trucking content in the lead-up to the on-track action at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend.

We also recognise that the Queensland-based transporters will be heading through some difficult weather conditions over the coming days, and wish all our followers the best in the midst of the ongoing flooding crisis in Queensland and New South Wales.
