WATCH: SUPERCARS TRANSPORTERS DEPART WINTON TEST

The 2022 Repco Supercars Championship season is edging closer with testing now complete

Team 18’s Supercars transporter

On Tuesday afternoon, we headed up the Hume Freeway to capture the southern Supercars team transporters departing their official test day at Winton Motor Raceway.

Blanchard Racing Team was first to leave the popular race venue in Victoria’s High Country, with its largely unchanged Kenworth K200-led B-Double race transporter hitting the road half an hour earlier than the next team.

Brad Jones Racing’s B-Double duo was next to depart, with their Adaptalift Mercedes-Benz Actros-led transporters hauling four ZB Commodore Supercars back to Albury to finalize their preparations for Sydney Motorsport Park next weekend.

Erebus Motorsport was next, rocking an all-black arrangement led by its Griffith Corporation-supplied Mercedes-Benz Actros prime mover. Expect to see some Boost Mobile signage applied to this trailer set over the next week.

Penrite Racing has a brand-new truck for 2022. The Braeside squad will run a Whitehorse Truck Centre-supplied Freightliner Cascadia prime mover to pull the Ford Mustang racers of David Reynolds and Lee Holdsworth. It was only pulling a single trailer back to Melbourne, but it’ll be in B-Double configuration for the trip to Sydney.

Tickford Racing’s Kenworth K200 rigs were up next, sporting some new wraps to reflect their updated corporate partnerships for 2022.

Walkinshaw Andretti United was second last to leave. It’s running the same Palm Trans-supplied Kenworth K200 big cab and trailer set this year, but with updated signage to reflect its partnerships with Optus and NTI.

The fan-favourite Team 18 rig was last to leave Winton, and it wasn’t sporting any major changes. However, it does have a new driver for 2022 in Brandon Patmore. Traditional truck fans will be pleased to know that the team’s Kenworth T909 will stick around for another season at least, with the task of hauling over 50 tonnes of Supercars equipment to support the 2022 campaigns of Scott Pye and Mark Winterbottom.
