TRAVELLING TO TOWNSVILLE: DAY ONE

We are very lucky to have Preston Hire Racing truck driver, Colin Schwartz, sharing his travels from Melbourne to Townsville in the Kenworth T610 B-Double transporter over the next couple of days.

Colin will recap each day on the road over the 2600-kilometre journey to Reid Park. Enjoy this insight into the life of a Supercars truck driver on the road!

"Well, we have finally finished for the day. We made it safely to a little town in outback NSW called Armatree. Absolutely amazing little place and a must-see for any traveller.

We started out the day in Melbourne where the weather was looking fairly grim with rain all around us. It was not looking promising to keep these big rigs shiny. The further north we headed, the more sunshine we encountered. We also saw some impressive scenery along the way.

It has been a great trip so far with so much support from family, friends and fans. We travelled exactly 1000km today which leaves us 1693km to go till we embark on Townsville.

Super impressed with the comfort and security of the Kenworth T610 and its ability to handle these undulating roads.

Until tomorrow, this is PHR Truck along with Preston Hire Racing racing signing off."
