SPOTTED: COPA TRUCK TRANSPORTERS AT CURITIBA FINALE
The best race trucks in Brazil will clash one more time at Curitiba this weekend
It’s been a couple of months between race meetings for Brazil’s Copa Truck teams. Their last outing was to the Autódromo Potenza Eireli in Minas Gerais in early October, so the teams have had some time to prepare their weaponry for the championship finale at the Autódromo Internacional de Curitiba.
Three drivers are in contention for the championship this weekend. André Marques goes into the event as the favourite, having accumulated 227 points across eight rounds. His nearest threat comes from AM Motorsport teammate and fellow Mercedes-Benz Actros driver, Wellington Cirino. Usual Racing’s Felipe Giaffone is the only other driver who can mathematically take the 2021 Copa Truck title in his IVECO Hi-Way race truck.
Brazilian motorsport photographer, Duda Bairros, is in Curitiba to shoot all the truck racing action this weekend. Duda took some great shots of the Copa Truck teams and transporters arriving at the Autódromo Internacional de Curitiba on an overcast Thursday in the Paraná capital.
Check out some of his fantastic photos below.
The action got underway with two practice sessions earlier today. Saturday will feature practice three and qualifying, followed by a warm-up session and two races to decide the title on Sunday.
Truck racing fans can catch the action on Copa Truck’s YouTube channel on Saturday, and the action will be shown live on Band as well as the Copa Truck YouTube channel for overseas viewers.
