RED BULL AMPOL’S TRANSPORTER SPOTTED AT QUEENSLAND RACEWAY

We saw it with a single trailer in the team’s 2021 launch video, and now it’s been spied in B-Double spec

The Queensland-based Supercars teams tested at Queensland Raceway last Friday, and thanks to the handy camerawork of Matthew Paul Photography, we got some glimpses of the Red Bull Ampol Racing transporter for 2021.

The biggest change for this year is the prime mover, with the team taking on Daimler Trucks sponsorship following its multi-year partnership with IVECO Australia.

That explains the Mercedes Actros prime mover up front, though this is not the exact truck that will pull the team’s equipment to race tracks across Australia in 2021.

The current truck starred in the team’s 2021 launch video, and is on loan from Daimler Trucks Australia. The team has confirmed to us that its 2021-spec truck will be delivered after the opening round of the season.

We can also see some cosmetic changes to the trailers since 2020, with Ampol signage now occupying prime real estate alongside Red Bull.

The transporter made the 50-kilometre trip back to base in Banyo on Friday night, and will head to Bathurst for the opening round of the season beginning on February 26.

It’s not the only Triple Eight Race Engineering transporter on the move this year, with the team fielding an entry in this year’s Australian GT with Johor Racing. And we spied the Graham Lusty Trailers-built B-Double in the background of this press shot released last week.

The first round of the 2021 Australian GT season was scheduled for this weekend, which shaping up to be a perfect truckspotting opportunity. However, the event has been delayed as a result of Melbourne’s lockdown. We’ll make sure we get some photos and footage of it on the move when that event is confirmed.
