It feels a long way away now, but there’s an exciting double header in the works at Tailem Bend

The Australian Racing Group (ARG) and Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships teams and transporters haven’t travelled to a race meeting since late April, and with the cancellation of Morgan Park last Monday, it’s set to be a while longer before they blow the cobwebs off the trucks and race machinery.

However, there’s finally some good news for fans of TCR Australia, Touring Car Masters, National Trans Am, Fanatec GT World Challenge and other categories on the roster. They’re set to visit The Bend Motorsport Park on consecutive weekends in October beginning on the weekend of October 16-17 and finishing on October 22-24.

There’ll be plenty for race fans and transporter admirers alike, with the TCR Australia, Touring Car Masters, Trans Am, GT World Challenge, Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge, Radical Australia Cup, Kincrome SXS Motorsport Australia Championship and Australian Prototype Series racing during the opening weekend.

On the second weekend, the Australian Production Car Series, National Sport Sedan Series, Porsche 944, Radicals and Bullrush rally teams will provide the entertainment for race fans and truck spotters in the paddock.

With ongoing lockdowns in three states of Australia including South Australia, we’re seriously hoping the situation improves over the coming weeks and months. The teams deserve it for their months of patience, and the transporters need some kilometres too.

However, it’s not the next stop on the calendar, with Sandown Raceway set to host the fourth event of 2021 from September 17 – 19.

Now, everybody cross your fingers!
