AUSTRALIAN TRUCK RACING TRANSPORTERS CONVERGE ON WAKEFIELD PARK

After another disrupted season, the Australian Super Trucks fired back to life at Wakefield Park earlier this month to contest the opening round of the 2022 season.
A full field of 10 trucks arrived at the Tirranaville venue on the back of both open trailers and dedicated race truck transporters pulled by some unique machinery.
And when the teams had unloaded all the gear, it was a tight tussle between reigning champion, Steven Zammit, and GLE Racing’s Shannon Smith, who returned to the category after a short hiatus.
The Kenworth duo were the class of the field, with the Mack, Volvo, and Scania competition in pursuit in the heavy truck class. Three Isuzu SBR race trucks completed the field, with resurgent performances during the Sunday races after struggling with a damp track throughout Saturday.
We managed to snap a few photos over the weekend of racing. Check out a few of our favourites below.
