ALBERT PARK DEPARTURES

The transporters have left the building (well, Grand Prix circuit)

After a big weekend of racing at Albert Park, the support category transporters have headed in different directions from the Rolex Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.

Most were loaded up during the race, but as the trucks required part of the third sector to depart the track, they were held until after the racing was finished for the weekend.

We hung around the Fitzroy Street entry point as the Formula 1 race wound down and managed to capture an impressive Gibson Freight convoy heading into the track.

The fleet was quickly loaded with the Formula 1 gear that is bound for the Bahrain Grand Prix in a fortnight’s time. This kept the dedicated race transporters idling for a little longer as the sun set on Melbourne.

We then perched ourselves on Fitzroy Street once again and capture the trucks heading in all directions. You can see footage of them in action here, here and here.

Next up, the Supercars transporters head across Bass Strait for the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint. Before that, the first transporter parade of the year will be held through Launceston
